Behind The Design

Inspiration

Have you actually heard of silk watch straps before you landed on this page? Neither have we until we completed our quest when we got ourselves into the unknown.

Comments about how strap makers put together a few strings and try to sell them a fabric strap or why would I fit my $13k watch to some cheap nylon strap challenged us to develop this product. Is our definition of what luxury is only defined by Hermes or Rolex?

Reversible Silk Strap

We worked with a silk artisan from ground zero. We were drawn by the luster of the ancient material and the machines are capable of. A tubular construction is adopted with each side using a different color. A reversible single pass strap was born for watch collectors to show off both sides of the straps and the watch alike.

There was a catch. Natural silk yarns do not melt in high temperatures. It cannot be laser cut without fraying. The buckle needs to be a special hardware. So we drew inspiration from climbing belts and safety hardwares to develop its buckle specially for this range. The strap is secured by a teeth shaped blade that bites into the strap when secured. It also gives infinite micro adjustments to fit your wrist.

If your spring bar and watch case are so close together there is hardly any room for straps to go through, we have developed slots at intervals for the spring bar to be placed through the tubular construction.

Mass production for this product is not workable as it requires too much attention and it is finished by hand.
