Behind The Design

Vertical Grain Lizard Watch Strap

Lizard leather are often thought of a thing of the past. Think small, dressier watches in the 70's with some gold were often fitted with lizard straps, but the grains were oriented in a non directional direction. We want to look at it in today's context.

RSM's vertical grain lizard watch strap uses only consistent directional grain. Not to be confused with consistent grain sizes as it does not occur in nature. The vertically oriented direction give the watch bands a kind of Neo classic aesthetic to it. A new interpretation of the past for the present.

Stitches on Lizard leather straps are like structure buildings. They give the strap strengths where it is needed. In this case, to prevent the layers from delaminating. Only the critical positions are stitched. This allows the grains to shine.
