RSM watch straps that go well with IWC timepieces
One of Swiss watchmaking’s most popular manufactures, IWC was founded by American watchmaker Florentine Ariosto Jones in 1868 in Schaffhausen, Germany. Till today, IWC timepieces are defined by Jones’s style of applying high-tech engineering and production techniques to traditional mechanical watchmaking. IWC is synonymous with its many technical accomplishments, like the Pallweber display system, Albert Pellaton’s automatic winding system and anti-magnetic soft inner iron core protection, titanium and ceramic cases, and Kurt Klaus’s Valjoux 7750 grande complication.
IWC’s innovation and unassailable flair with design has won over millions of fans. IWC ambassadors like Eileen Gu, Lewis Hamilton and Tom Brady continue to inspire new generations of collectors to aspire to own an IWC watch.
IWC has many popular collections, such as the Portofino series which is themed on opulent Mediterranean vacations; the diving-inspired Aquatimer; the IWC Ingenieur which is a minimalist but distinct tool watch; and the Portugieser which is a sleek timepiece that takes inspiration from Portuguese marine chronometers of old. One of the most sought-after aviation watches in the world today is an IWC creation too: the IWC Big Pilot.
RSM followers are apparently big fans of the Big Pilot. So, if you are looking for creative ways to accentuate your pilot’s watch or dress watch, check out the cool combinations that these Instagrammers have come up with.

A watch Instagrammer who takes captivating macro shots and videos, @mr_watch.and.board is a passionate IWC fan who has paired his 43mm IWC Big Pilot with a similarly coloured RSM herringbone twill strap. Fortunately for him, RSM makes herringbone twill straps in colours like Icarus Blue, which matches the blue dial of his watch.
Below, he again applies the zigzag pattern of the herringbone twill strap, this time in Olive Drab, to accentuate the shimmering satin finish of his green IWC Pilot Chronograph.
If we could direct your attention to @jazzbass251’s subtly elegant pairing below, the RSM herringbone twill strap complements his IWC Big Pilot well because this sturdy strap is more than capable of holding this large and hefty watch in place.
Many customers have asked us if RSM straps can carry the weight of watches like the IWC Big Pilot, and the answer is yes. Rest assured, this thick strap’s nylon yarn structure makes it ultra tough.
Known for its historical significance, refined aesthetics, and mechanical excellence, the IWC Mark XII made its debut in 1993, as the successor to the Mark XI that was designed in 1948 for the British Royal Air Force.
@watchoutblog had the idea of placing this historic and technical masterpiece on a Stealth Khaki-coloured RSM engraved stripe strap. Yay or nay? Personally, we think the light colour of this strap makes it a beautiful companion for the Mark XII’s metal case and black dial.
Black dial watches also go well with dark canvas straps. Above, the texture of the Black Coal-coloured RSM fine canvas strap gorgeously but subtly juxtaposes @watchoutblog’s IWC.
